It is more to being a Judge than just sitting on the bench making rulings in cases. I have the leadership skills, the organizational skills, the human resource experience and counseling experience needed to effectively manage the court room.

My vision for this position is to move beyond the Bench and into the community. I want to serve not only as a Judge applying the law but also help motivate others to get involved with making the law. We must move back to giving the judges the discretion we need as judge. I want the community to learn to embrace those who return to the community after incarceration. All too often individuals return to our community with the obstacle of a criminal record and the stigma of having been convicted of a felony. They are not readily accepted back into the community or even their own families. We must address this issue with real life discussions and action.

As Judge, I will be more engaged with our community. I believe in a holistic approach to addressing the people who come before me. We cannot leave out any part of the community when a decision is made. We need our faith-based community, our business community as well as our law makers to take part in this movement. We need to let our leaders know that this issue must be addressed and the current condition of our judicial system is not acceptable. With your help, DeKalb County will be the number one community to live, work and educate our children because we will work to make our families whole again.
